We know these times surrounding COVID are very difficult for everyone. Even though you may have more time then anticipated to work on your home exercises, it can still be difficult to self-motivate to complete them. Here are some tips and tricks for maintaining some balance and normalcy to your day.

 

Take Some Time: If you don’t have to be up for anything in particular, take a moment for yourself! Start your day with a morning meditation, get some journaling in, and cook yourself a nice, hearty breakfast! Establishing a routine first thing in morning helps to set the tone for the whole day!

 

Create Space: Designate some time and space in your home for your exercises. Now is a great time to order resistance bands (You can purchase some from us), a small weight set, and a yoga mat! Relax: If finishing your home exercises has you tuckered out, now is the perfect time to get some extra rest in! Take a mid-day night, or retreat to your bedroom if you need a few minutes of alone time, especially if all your fellow household members are home all day as well!

 

Recharge: Work on your home exercises with someone else! Schedule a facetime or zoom with your other friends and family practicing social distancing. Whether it’s a fellow physical therapy patient or someone who wants to work on their fitness. We are all in this together!
