New Patient FAQ
Welcome to Results Rehabilitation Physical therapy new patient information. As a new patient, you may have many questions concerning your care, insurance coverage and length and types of treatments.
It is recommended to have a physician consultation and be given a prescription to start physical therapy. Most insurance companies continue to require prescriptions signed by a physician in order to cover for Physical Therapy Treatments.
As of January 2014, the state of California has granted what is termed Direct Access to the public: it means that an individual may seek physical therapy treatments without a medical doctor’s prescription for up to 12 visits or 45 days whichever comes first .At the end of this specified period a prescription is required.
However, individuals who have federally funded government coverage such as MEDICARE are not yet eligible for this program. We do ask that you contact your doctor for a prescription prior to your first visit.
What do I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring your doctor’s prescription if you have one, your insurance card and the completed initial evaluation form which can be downloaded from our website.
What do I wear?
We suggest that you wear loose fitting comfortable clothing as your therapist will be better able to assess your ability to move in the affected areas.
How long does my appointment last?
The initial evaluation as well as all additional appointments lasts approximately 45 to 60 minutes. Please arrive 15 minutes early at your initial appointment to complete our intake forms if you have not downloaded from our website.
Will my insurance cover the cost of physical therapy ?
We accept a variety of insurances. Please be sure to check with your insurance company to determine your eligibility and coverage.
Do you accept Medicare and does it cover the cost of my therapy treatments?
Yes, we accept Medicare and the cost may be covered entirely or partially depending upon individual coverage. Please check with our office.
