TIP SHEET FOR PATIENTS
We want this to be the start of a great relationship.
Patients who are active in their care get better results. We want you to feel heard, cared for, and valued as we work together, remotely to help you feel your best.
5 tips to help us make this the most effective experience for you:
1. MAKE A LIST Coming prepared is a great way to start a virtual visit off on the right foot. The easiest way to come prepared is to make a list of any relevant questions, details (like other medications), concerns, or changes you’d like to bring up. This is an easy way to make sure you don’t complete a visit and say, “I can’t believe I forgot to tell them that!”
ASK QUESTIONS
There’s no need to shy away from asking questions! Making sure you feel comfortable in your plan of care is our top priority. For example, “What activities should I limit or avoid during my treatment?” or “What can I do at home in between our virtual appointments to recover faster?” are both great questions we’re happy to go over with you. Add any others you want to ask to your list and make sure you bring them up during  your visits.
BE HONEST
This isn’t the Dentist’s office, you don’t have to bend the truth about your flossing routine here and we don’t want you to bend the truth about how you’re keeping up with your plan of care either.  We can’t do our jobs to the best of our ability if we don’t have the correct information. Please be honest with us in our conversations.
PARTNER WITH US
We can only do so much to help you recover during our virtual visits. Without your own help and dedication between visits, you simply won’t progress in your goals. If you’re feeling unmotivated to follow our instructions, let us know so we can come up with a solution together. We want you to be involved in creating a successful care plan.
MAKE IT A ROUTINE AND A PRIORITY
Your health is our priority–we need it to be a priority for you too. Make your exercises a priority in your day and schedule them much like you would a meeting. Take advantage of any apps or patient engagement resources your clinic has provided to make it easier to keep up with your plan of care.
