Therapists

Andreas Schenk

First discovered his passion to become a physical therapist after he suffered from a severe sports injury that required multiple leg surge
ries in 1975, 1981, and 1985. As a Junior Swiss National Badminton player and Junior Swiss Champion, he wanted to return to his prior athletic level of physical training quickly. He looked to various whole body movement approaches such as yoga and Tai Chi to gain a deeper understanding of what causes dysfunction in the musculoskeletal system.

Andreas graduated in 1989 from the Physical Therapy College in Schaffhausen, Switzerland.

He mentored under the Co-Founder of Swiss Manual Therapy, Thomas Tritschler. Andreas had the privilege to study the Bobath approach with Trudy Geisseler. He was strongly influenced by Functional Kinetics by Dr. Klein-Vogelbach, and the PNF method.

Upon his arrival in the Unites States in 1991, Andreas obtained his physical therapy license in California and continued to work in a Skilled Nursing Facility for nine years. In 1994-95, Andreas was invited to teach Applied Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT)

Bobath approach, as an adjunct professor at Loma Linda University in Redlands, CA. Andreas continued to treat patients with complex issues ranging from total joint replacements, spinal injuries, amputees, and severe strokes. His recognition of some of the limitations of the many standard treatment applications in this work environment motivated him to search for improved treatment methods.

In 2000, Andreas opened his own outpatient orthopedic clinic, Results Rehabilitation Inc. in Coronado, CA. Through his physical therapy studies and extensive knowledge of biomechanics/anatomy, he developed innovative therapeutic exercises and neuromuscular re-education manual techniques which are now called the Result Treatment Method, ‘RTM’.  They were developed to treat a variety of patients to decrease fear of movements and improve overall mobility and well-being. The RTM exercises are exclusively used at Results Rehabilitation Inc. (www.resultsrehab.com) by highly trained physical therapists to improve patients’ outcomes.

Andreas and his dedicated team are in the process to create the RTM Institute, ‘RTMI’ to educate, teach and share RTM locally, statewide, and nationwide. The highly effective and innovative movement techniques have been further developed into a unique whole body workout system called Results Fundamental Fitness. This was created to offer private and group sessions to the public and former patients returning to healthy exercising.

Results Rehabilitation Inc. continues to be an accredited internship outpatient orthopedic setting for many physical therapy students seeking to obtain their Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Students are encouraged to practice advanced manual and neuromuscular re-education skills during their graduate level education under Andreas and his staff’s guidance.

Dr. Michelle Hansen PT, DPT

Michelle, a San Diego native, completed her Bachelor of Arts degree, at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. She then pursued and successfully completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Chapman University. While finishing her requirements she interned at Results Rehab and was trained in THE RESULTS TREATMENT METHOD.

After her internship, Michelle became a member of our staff and is continuing to skillfully treat and help our patients decrease and eliminate pain. Michelle was inspired to become a therapist when she accompanied an injured friend to a physical therapy appointment and witnessed the skillful treatment by the therapist that helped her friend get out of pain.

Her previous experience includes working in acute settings with orthopedic as well as neurologically involved patients such as stroke and MS in order to restore to normal function. Having been an athlete, Michelle recognizes that injury prevention is an important aspect of educating her patients through her work.
