Stress During COVID
Due to the current state of the world and how it has been affected due to COVID-19, stress is at an all time high on a global scale. This pandemic has caused everyone including men, woman, and children to be on edge. Stress is one of the most dangerous situations to happen to someone’s body, due to high levels of cortisol released. It increases anxiety and automatically puts the body in a flight or fight state. During this incredibly difficult time, here are some things you can do to manage your stress levels:
Take A Break!: Step away from the 24-hr COVID news cycle. While it’s important to stay informed, there is only so much news to be digested in a day, and only so much that can change on any given day. If you must look, only look for an hour a day.
Take Care of Your Body: This means exercise! Even though you may not have your regular gym time, it’s important to move your body every day, even if you are just going for a walk. Also, schedule your physical therapy time!
Take Care of Your Mind: This is an excellent time to slow down from our normal, daily lives and to look inward. Try meditating or journaling to help clear your mind, and to work out all the emotions surrounding this crisis.
Take Time For Yourself: Now is your time to shine! It’s a great time to start cooking, discover a new hobby, or work on all those things around the house which you say you’ll always get to!
Take Time For Others: Even though you can’t meet in person, make sure you schedule Facetime, Zoom, or HouseParty sessions with your friends and family. Staying connected can help combat loneliness and you’ll have less to catch up on when this is all over!
We Are All In This Together!
